Subjects we teach

Literacy.jpg

LITERACY

We have an excellent literacy programme that is closely monitored. Each child's progress is reviewed weekly and they are challenged based on their individual abilities and extra assistance is provided where needed.

WRITING

Due to our size, we are able to adapt quickly to the progress of each student by providing them with a tailored reading and writing programme. Their progress is monitored weekly so teachers can adapt accordingly to the needs of each student.

MATHEMATICS

We use different techniques inside and outside the classroom for teaching mathematics. We make maths fun and engaging using a wide range of methods tailored to the students' interests.

Science.jpg

SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY

We are continually developing our activities to keep pace with the needs and interests of students as they develop their understanding of the natural physical and biological world around them. Our children are digital natives and we support these skills using technology including laptops and iPads.

Religious Instruction.jpg

RELIGIOUS INSTRUCTION

Supported by our Special Charter, we teach Christian values in everything we do and foster the Catholic Doctrines in our classrooms and the playground.

Art.jpg

ART

A broad spectrum of creative techniques are taught. Our students particularly love any opportunity to express their creativeness in everything they do.

Music.jpg

MUSIC & DRAMA

Each child has a chance to be a star using their individual talents whether it be acting, singing, dancing, or playing a musical instrument. Our students write their school production bi-annually and every child plays a part. This is just one of the huge benefits of being a small school, every child shines! Our entire school peforms in the Wellington event Artsplash held at the Michael Fowler Centre every year.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Besides the regular physical activities of cross country, atheletics, and swimming, all students are given the opportuntiy of specialised coaching in many different sports including hockey, AFL, rippa rugby, football, netball, volleyball and tennis. We have access to 3 tennis courts, an indoor recreation centre and a large sports field.

COMMUNITY & ENVIRONMENT

We are an EnviroSchool and our students get involved with community initiatives such as the Dune Restoration or fundraising for charities in need. We take pride in our special weekly hot lunches which involves a parent and a small group harvesting produce & cooking for the school.
