San Antonio School is a caring, Catholic community
committed to excellence in all spheres of the education of our children.
San
Antonio School exists to educate our children academically, socially
and spiritually: To challenge our children to achieve and to prepare
them to play a positive role in our society and in life.
Through
its special character, San Antonio promotes a values based environment
that encompasses all aspects of children's learning and developmental
needs.
The small size of the school fosters close and
co-operative relationships between children of all ages. The school has
a very involved parent and caregiver community with regular social
activities such as the now famous annual San Antonio Ball, barbecues
and morning teas during the school week. The school has an active and
social PTA which also supports the schools by fundraising activities
throughout the year. There is a close relationship with the adjacent
Church and Parish of San Antonio.
If you would like your child to have a Roman
Catholic education at San Antonio School, we welcome your enquiry as there is now more
discretion regarding admission.
The school has a decile rating of 10.

ERO Review
The ERO
review in March 2007 noted that “The
special character of the school is evident in classroom, corridor and
library displays, which reflect seasonal and celebratory cycles, and
the warm, respectful and responsible manner in which the students
interact with each other and their teachers.
Everyone at the
school is known by name.
Many
organised activities encourage a sense of belonging.
For
example, all students participated in the recent musical production and
several school and class visits are made to places of local and
educational interest such as Te Papa and the Wellington City and
Eastbourne libraries. There
is also close contact with neighbouring schools for sporting activities
and staff professional development. ”
